Our Staff
SCOTT A. RUBIN, DC
Dr. Scott A. Rubin has been practicing
chiropractic care in the St. Petersburg area since 1994. After graduating Cum Laude at Life Chiropractic College, he worked on post graduate studies in Applied Kinesiology and
Acupuncture. His dream was to create a method of healthcare delivery that would support total wellness for people.
Dr. Rubin intensified his commitment to his dream in January of 1997, when he began what was The Center for Healing - now the Rubin Health Center, a holistic health care facility designed to create the synergy he'd always dreamed of.
Since then, Dr. Scott has completed certification through
Power Pilates out of New York. He is the third chiropractor in the US to complete Pilates certification. He holds a black belt in Wado Kai Karate. Currently he is completing a diplomate in nutrition.
Dr. Rubin is a single dad of two wonderful girls, Raquel and Jessie, and has 2 dogs, Kody and Sally.
Sharon La Rosa, AP, DOM
Dr. Sharon La Rosa,
Acupuncture Physician, is graduate of East West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota, FL, with a Master's Degree in Oriental Medicine and is pursuing her Ph.D at American Liberty University in Fullerton, CA. She worked as an intern at Health South Rehabilitation Hospital in Sarasota, working with stroke patients and those with spinal cord injuries. She has studied Energy Medicine with Donna Eden for six years and is a member of the American Anti-Aging Academy. She integrates a variety of energetic, emotional, spiritual and bodywork techniques into her work, in addition to
herbal and nutritional therapy. She believes in empowering the patient through education and participation in their own healing process and conducts workshops and study groups. She is currently working on certification in Acupoint Injection Therapy.
Leesa M. Scott
Leesa has been a C.A. at Rubin Health Center since July 2006, and has been working as a C. A. since 2004. Her earlier experience includes managing an apartment complex for 10 years and working for McDonald's for 23 years. She also works part time selling shoes at Dillard's on weekends. Leesa is the
pelvic stabilizer specialist and would love to help you balance your world and help you put your best foot forward.
Laurie A. Miller, LMT
Laurie graduated from Humanities Center School of Massage Therapy in 1989. She has been specializing in
deep tissue massage at the Rubin Health Center since 2005. She enjoys educating patients on issues involving soft tissue injuries, stretching and relaxation techniques.
Laurie was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Since 1984, she has lived on Treasure Island. Her personal interests include yoga, biking, reading and walking on the beach. Laurie encourages people to have a
massage session and discover the many modalities offered at the Rubin Health Center.
Shannon Leigh Hill, LMT
Shannon is a new massage therapist at Rubin Health Center. She is a graduate of the Humanities Center School of Massage and has been licensed since 2005. She specializes in
therapeutic, neuromuscular, deep tissue and prenatal massages. She loves taking continuing education classes and learning new modalities.
