Vestibular Disc

The inflatable vestibular disc mimics both the movement and shape of the inflatable exercise ball when used on any seat. It acts as a dynamic cushion to activate major muscle groups. Use it on the floor as a standing disc for balance training, proprioception and strengthening of the lower extremities. Can be deflated to 1″ thickness (mushy) or inflated to 2″ thickness (firm). The inflatable vestibular disc comes in 2 sizes, 14″ diameter and 24″ diameter. Each disc has one nubby side for tactile feedback and stimulation and one flat side. The uses are limitless.

Adults with Limited Mobility
The vestibular disc is the foundation of my workout plan for those with limited mobility. Sitting on one of the 14″ discs while working out provides the core (abs, back and hips) workout that many people struggle with due to an inability to do sit-ups and crunches. While sitting on the disc you need to maintain your balance and use good posture. This in turn leads to proper form for the exercises.

Office Workers
We personally use the 14″ diameter vestibular disc in our office. Anyone who spends the majority of their day sitting at a desk knows how easy it is to slump back in your chair leading to back and neck pain. With the vestibular disc you are forced to use good posture and eventually it becomes second nature to sit up straight even without the disc.

Great Addition to Any Workout
There are a number of ways to utilize the vestibular disc:

  • Sit On Disc For Additional Core Workout
  • Put Hands On Disc For Tough Pushups
  • Stand On For Ankle, Foot And Calf Workout
  • Develop Better Balance
